Chinese President Xi Jinping has extended warm Spring Festival greetings to the nation’s military veterans, paying tribute to their service and reaffirming the Party’s commitment to

strengthening the armed forces.

Xi, who also serves as general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), delivered the greetings while attending a gala hosted by the CMC for retired military officers from Beijing-based troops on Friday.

Amid sustained applause, Xi greeted the veterans and spoke with them personally, asking about their health and daily lives. Together, they reflected on the remarkable progress achieved by the Party, the country and the military over the past year, highlighting shared achievements and enduring dedication.

The veterans expressed firm support for rallying more closely around the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core. They pledged to act in accordance with Xi Jinping Thought on Strengthening the Military and to remain steadfast in upholding the authority and centralized, unified leadership of the Party Central Committee.

They also emphasized the decisive importance of establishing Xi Jinping’s core position within the Party and reaffirmed their commitment to implementing the system of ultimate responsibility under the chairman of the Central Military Commission.

Looking ahead, the veterans vowed to continue contributing their experience and dedication toward achieving the centenary goals of the People’s Liberation Army by 2027, and to supporting the high-quality advancement of national defense and military modernization.
